Dr Justin Varney

Dr Varney’s background includes organisational management, conference planning and partnership working across the statutory sector in the areas of health, crime, homelessness and lesbian and gay civil rights. Justin is engaged with pan-London LGBT health inequalities and community development agendas and is keen to inter-link both this existing learning and that developed from the PLP into highlighting the role of arts in community development. Having a strategic approach to developing partnerships across agencies to enable community cohesion and the implementation of social policy, he brings a skill set which reflects both historical and contemporary approaches to marginalised communities. By building on this skills set, a strong interagency partnership brokering approach and good interpersonal skills, he delivers a critical part of the PLP team.
