Should I really ask questions about sexuality when monitoring?
Whilst there are currently no set guidelines, the LGBT community makes for approximately 10% of the population, many of whom regard their sexuality as a cultural identity with a heritage. Given that most moniroting forms are anonymous there is no reason not to exclude it.
What is the best way to ask questions about sexuality?
When using tick boxes, just get straight to the point 'How do you describe your sexuality?'
Straight, Gay, Bisexual, Lesbian, Trans-gender, Queer Other, Prefer not to say
